Company President Recieves Honor at Dedication Ceremony

Oakfield, Maine – Katahdin Cedar Log Homes and the company's president, David Gordon, were recognized at a dedication ceremony for Life Members at the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine's new Conference Center in Augusta. Gordon donated $40,000 of log siding and end cap architectural features for the 4,000 square-foot single story building.

The dedication ceremony and open house on Sunday, September 16, welcomed members to the spacious new Conference Center which features 24-foot ceilings and open, airy meeting spaces for the organization's membership. Construction of the building was completed in January 2007.

David Gordon has a long history of support for the Alliance. In 2004 his company donated a cabin retreat as a prize for a fundraiser to promote education and awareness that raised approximately $120,000. "The Sportsman Alliance is a tremendous organization for promoting and maintaining the outdoor life that is a significant part of Maine," Gordon said. "We were delighted to donate the rustic cedar log siding, which serves as a visual reminder of the tradition of hunting and fishing in Maine."

"David Gordon has been a tremendous supporter of the sportsman," said George Smith, Executive Director of Sportsman's Alliance of Maine. "We felt that the log exterior would be a spectacular way to embody the outdoors in our conference center."
